On Thursday, 22 May 2025, the second board meeting of the Czech Association for Textile Care took place in the scenic region of Česká Kanada. The agenda was filled with key topics covering both strategic issues and current projects and events in preparation.
One of the main points of discussion was the analysis of documentation for the amortization table and the formula for calculating textile lifespan, which may serve as a basis for resolving customer complaints. In the field of international cooperation, the board addressed APaČ’s representation in the European Textile Services Association (ETSA). Board member Kateřina Marešová, from the family business Korál servis LTM s.r.o., expressed interest in taking over this agenda and will participate in the July meeting of national associations in Helsinki online.
The board approved the implementation of a new exhibition at the Municipal Museum in Svitavy, which will showcase the processes of modern industrial laundry operations. A key feature of the exhibition will be an interactive virtual reality component, allowing visitors to experience various stages of laundry processing through 3D glasses.
Attention was also given to preparations for the upcoming INTERCLEAN 2025 conference, which will take place in October in Olomouc, as well as a planned group trip to the Clean Show 2025 trade fair in the USA.
The board reviewed the outcomes of the second annual European Open Laundry Day, held this March, which reached nearly half a million readers and viewers according to the PR report. Also positively received were the expert seminars and the TexTalk 04 event, focused on sustainability in the textile industry.
Further agenda items included the association’s financial performance, an ongoing review of the dry-cleaning certification system, current funding opportunities, and proposed updates to professional qualifications in the sector. The board also discussed employer obligations related to occupational medical examinations and a potential collaboration with a law firm to provide specialized legal support tailored to members’ needs.
