In the 20th episode of the APaČ Podcast, we welcomed Olga Suthe, Sales Director of Miele Professional for the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Miele Professional also provides professional solutions for commercial laundries. A large part of our conversation focused on what makes a laundry operation efficient, reliable and cost-effective.
How important is the service life of technology when choosing new equipment, and why should laundries look beyond the initial purchase price? Where can they find savings in water, energy and detergent consumption? And why is simply buying a more efficient machine not enough without optimising the entire operation?
Another major topic is the shortage of skilled employees and the future of servicing. How can intuitive machine controls make employees’ work easier and reduce errors? And how can digitalisation gradually shift servicing from fixing breakdowns to preventing them? Olga also shares her unusual career journey – she studied veterinary medicine and spent a large part of her career in the pharmaceutical industry. What brought her to Miele Professional, and what do these seemingly very different industries have in common?
We also discuss Miele’s new membership in the Czech Association for Textile Care and the importance of cooperation across the industry. The company does not want to be a member simply “to make up the numbers” – it wants to actively participate, contribute its know-how and support the further development of the professional textile care sector.
