APaČ at the Young Fashion Designer competition in Jihlava

On the last day of November, the association, represented by vice president Martina Prošková from Jihlava Laundry and Dry Cleaners and executive director Monika Býmová, participated in the Young Fashion Designer of the Czech Republic competition as a spectator. At the event, which has been hosted by Jihlava since 1998, students of clothing and textile secondary schools of the Czech Republic presented themselves.

The Jihlava-Helenín School of Applied Arts was also represented here, which is participating in the TexTalk Association event, where we connect beginners and experienced experts across the textile industry to discuss the sustainability of clothes and learn more about their maintenance. Not only the models of Helenín’s students were evaluated by the expert jury at the Young Fashion Designer. “We saw a number of interesting pieces on the catwalk, and I must say that the jury had a really difficult job. I personally watched the creations of young designers both from the point of view of aesthetics and, of course, from the point of view of sustainability. We would like to invite other textile schools to the next TexTalk to continue spreading awareness about the work of laundries and dry cleaners,” said Martina Prošková.
