In the fifth episode of the APaČ Podcast, we welcomed Miroslav Malina, director of the company P-MM, which operates a network of laundries and dry cleaners. The company was founded shortly after the Velvet Revolution and is now run by the second generation of the family. We spoke with Miroslav about the day-to-day realities of managing a family business, how to navigate generational differences, and why it’s essential to have clearly defined roles.
You’ll find out why his childhood dream of becoming a professional pilot never came true, how the family environment brought him back into the business, and how he still connects his current role to his original passion. We also discussed which business principles from the 1990s have endured – and why they sometimes work better than modern approaches.
Miroslav speaks openly about the inner dynamics of a family-run company, the occasional conflicts that come and go, and the challenges of balancing personal and professional life. The conversation also looks to the future – will the company remain in the hands of the family, or take a different direction?
