A Legend of Czech Textile Care Turns 90

With deep respect and admiration, we celebrate the remarkable milestone of Mr. Ing. Zdeněk Kadlčík, honorary member of the Czech Association for Textile Care, who turns 90 years old today.

Mr. Kadlčík is without exaggeration one of the key figures in Czech industrial laundry. He graduated in Chemical Technology and Textile Chemistry, later worked in the fermentation industry producing antibiotics, and went on to serve in the Regional Organization for Technical Development in Banská Bystrica.

His expertise and long-standing experience naturally led him to become an active and committed member of our Association. To this day, he remains involved as a member of the Commission for Industrial Laundries, contributing to the discussion of current issues affecting large-scale operations. Since 2019, he has published his own regular column in our members’ magazine Informátor, where he covers not only ecological topics, but above all technological innovations in the field.

His contribution to education in textile care is also exceptional – from the 1970s until recently, he has worked as a trainer in professional education, covering areas such as textile materials, washing technologies, and quality control. He also played a key role in the development of an online training platform for laundry and dry-cleaning professionals, co-funded by the European Union.

We Kicked Off the Celebration in Style

Today, Mr. Kadlčík was personally congratulated on behalf of the entire Association by President Jana Puškáčová, who presented him with a commemorative plaque and a bottle of 50-year-old French cognac – with a symbolic 40% alcohol content. 50 + 40 = 90 – exactly the age of this extraordinary expert and colleague.

We wish Mr. Kadlčík continued good health, energy, joy and peace – and we look forward to sharing more wonderful moments with him. Today’s gesture marks the beginning of celebrations worthy of such a truly special anniversary.
