Members of the Commission for Small Laundries and Dry Cleaners met for the first meeting of the year on Wednesday, May 10. On the agenda was further progress in the project of certification of treatment plants and a discussion of existing and new events organized by the Association.
The members of the Commission welcomed the possibility of a more detailed elaboration of the project Certification of treatment plants within the framework of the European project. This would create a comprehensive methodology for this type of certification, which would also be freely available to other countries. The commission also dealt with the continuation of the Open Door Day, which could be included among the Association’s annual events. Members agreed to marketing support for this networking event, which could bring concrete results towards apparel sustainability while helping to raise awareness of the irreplaceable role of our industry in the textile industry.
The Commission issued its recommendations on these and other points of discussion, which the Bureau will deal with at its meeting on May 24.
