The ETSA Congress was hosted by Prague

The Congress of the European Textile Care Association ETSA was hosted by Prague on May 2 and 3. Panel discussions with European experts dealt with current topics from the industrial laundry sector. At the same time, ETSA celebrated its 30th anniversary with a congress in Prague.

A key event for experts in the textile care sector, who discussed the essential role of the sector in shaping a sustainable, green and digitized economy, took place at Prague’s Grandior Hotel. Visitors participated in debates about the challenges and progress of the sector, gained an overview of the content and impacts of the Green Agreement or the climate pact and its influence on the textile industry.

The event was attended by leading representatives of the Association of Laundries and Dry Cleaners. President Jana Puškáčová gave the opening speech at the opening. The event was also visited by the vice-president of the Association, Jan Chrištof, and the member of the board and representative of the Association for European Affairs, Nikola Kašparová, who played a crucial role in the organization of the entire event. “The event was very successful, our Association presented itself brilliantly, and of course Prague charmed everyone,” Jana Puškáčová evaluates the congress.

The speakers included the newly elected president of ETSA Thomas Neyers and even the former Prime Minister of Portugal, Paolo Portas, who led a panel discussion on the role of textile care in the world. European representatives of textile care associations were joined by the president of the American association, Joseph Ricci. “We shared views on what to do for more inclusiveness in our industry, what stereotypes bind us, how to currently attract new talent to the industry or how to use disabled or otherwise disadvantaged workers in our operations. Recycling and how we can collaborate interdisciplinary and create something valuable together with textile producers was also an essential topic,” Nikola Kašparová summarizes the essential points of the program.
